  I like them both HOWEVER # 2 has my vote because of the expression……..

  Well I have to say first that I am a sucker for babies and these two images made me go ..aahhhh, and smile.
  The baby is so cute… now that’s coming from a father of three grown up girls and a grandfather to one five year old boy.

  Now as for the images… I really like #1, but perhaps you could clone the hands etc at top of babys head.
  The mothers hair is fine as it looks a very natural pose.Oh and I love the direction of the babys eyes.. adds a little something extra to the image

  #2 IMO you could crop the mother and just leave a portrait of the baby.

  i have to agree with lousy, first shot is fantastic and very original. the focus really draws you in to the baby but the background hands are a distraction
