I might sound weird, but I always had a question in mind when seeing pictures like these. Why do people build houses from wood and not concrete or bricks in the US? I know nothing about tornadoes, I’m just thinking, could a brick house with a concrete structure survive a storm like that? You would need less air-conditioning too because of the better insulation…
I agree with you 100% My house is brick. some of the destroyed homes were Brick and block as well. When you hace cars being thrown itnto walls not much will hold up but your chances are much better with masonry.
We live about 15 miles for the nearest damaged areas. no problems here.
Remind me of that scene in War of The Worlds where Cruise and his kids come outside and find everything destroyed, and a jumbo jet on their front lawn.
Must be absolutely terrifying to have to endure, damn lucky no one was killed.
