Nice one – the image, not the plonk. Interesting to see you using selective vignetting – it really helps an image and so subtle you’d hardly notice it. Was this the “location”??

This was the location… it’s a huge, ploughed field… inside there’s two features… a barren old shed and a circular wall, with some trees and 2 graves inside. The trees are all conifers which I find hard to shoot, especially at a distance as they always appear very black and featureless.

Little sample (bad one at that)… tired tonight… might be more inspired to get something out of them at the weekend…

    Ooo nice shot.
I like the fact that the label is torn off in places.

I never even thought of selective vignetting (I’m a newbie) but it looks great on this shot!

I dunno about this one John. The background is nice and all..but the subject is a little…boring…maybe too strong a word…but close.

It just doesn’t have the impact of the Boots shot…which was similar I think.

Or maybe I’m just cranky this morning…Too many evenings spent watching other people get drunk…not on Buckfast btw…

Boring… WFT… are you mad… how can you say such a thing… this is ridiculous… ban this man… next time I see you there’s gonna be trouble… (about to engage in one of those rock star wreck the guitar against the speakers moments only using the keyboard and monitor instead).

LOL… just kidding of course…

I see, I like, I shoot, I process, I still like, I post… and that’s often where it can all go downhill… because not everyone will share your opinion… but it’s fun sometimes when a shot invokes bad reactions too.

I recall a while back jb7 gave me the most critical but enjoyable critique of all time.. very funny too.. it made my day! I won’t dig up the thread because we went into about 30 posts worth of shenanigans that particular night.

Point being sometimes bad is good! Not image wise, but critique wise.

PS. I’ve always wanted to throw a ‘pretend’ wobbler when someone says something negative about my shots LOL.

Ah I know how it goes John….

I’ve had shots that I loved..and everyone else was at the best ambivalent to.

But hey..if you want to meet at dawn with cameras loaded…and shoot to the death….that’s okay with me…

Do you buy me pints and oysters afterwards?

PS. Cheer up… you seem moody today?

If this was a bottle of Chateau wine, with aged label, sitting on the table of a French bistro with the background blurred out (exquisite bokeh etc) ,
you would get the accolades, invitation to groups, even stars on flickr that you crave :D

Its not a bad shot at all but I think that if you took the photo a little further back it would be better, the bottle is too dominant perhaps.
I like the bokeh and vignetting, if there was a flat cap or something else on the stone maybe better,….. but you shoot what you see.

Me ? Moody..? Whatever next..!! I NEVER get moody…just ask my wife….

Or the people in the office today…

Actually my right hand has been itchy all day…maybe there is something in that old wives tale after all…

I think maybe I need a nice bottle of buckfast..

or better even…a bottle of 1997 Dom. Romane Conti outside that French Bistro (look it up on Google..;-))

I like this John, I like the contrast too (of subjects) you never know where these things are gonna turn up.
