Shillelagh Village… some old & no more buildings…
(don’t mention me vinger-etting… something profound has a control over me of late)

Maybe that’s why I was abused…the parts she didn’t want me to see! Yeah, you’re vinegar-ing is hard especially on the first one but don’t mention it and no one will notice  . The last is a classic – I wonder why they went out of business?? Marketing ploy not work out, or what???RobMemberAll in all I have to say you’ve found what looks like a marvellous
location with plenty of photo opportunities. Maybe we should arrange
a major PI day out in Shillelagh, muster up about fifty photographers
and really give the locals something to worry about…Rob.
nfl-fanParticipantThe funny thing is… while Alan was getting the smackdown from yer one… I was getting a guided tour of the old buildings from a local who encouraged me to go into an old power station; which is now converted into a house; but is currently un-occupied as the owners are in Dublin (he assured me… but I passed… already had an angry farmer stint last week).
The school is a protected building but someone wants it flattened for apartments I was reliably informed. Similar to bats in Dracula’s Castle about 25 birds vacated the place as I approached.
Between wonka and myself is there anything more to be told about the village?
jb7ParticipantHoly God Rob-
now you’re giving me the willies-A good spot alright-
have you been invited to add these to the Irish Shopfronts Group on flikr yet?The Take Away is fab-
in fact, all of them-Looks like a forced evacuation as a result of the Irish Nuclear Weapons Testing Programme-
j
MartinParticipant4 great shots especially the first and last. Wouldn’t buy a bag a chips from that chipper it looks filthy
M
Mick451ParticipantVery good.
First and third are fab, very moody…in a village of the damned way.
Not that gone on the last, doesn’t feel like it belongs with the other three in terms of style.
Like the second too, but think it needs a bit more room at the top of the frame.ExpresbroParticipantGreat set John. Love the moody lighting.
I’d agree with Mick on the last one…doesn’t really sit with the others.
SANCHOMemberoh man what a fantastic place, fascinating! great jobs, really nice processing, ya brought out the doom and gloom and decay really nicely.
nfl-fanParticipantThanks for the feedback everybody, much appreciated.
Agree about #4, doesn’t fit the set. I liked it a lot, but didn’t think it would appeal as a post all on it’s own, so just bundled it in for the sake of hopefully making someone smile… the way it did me.
