Lee’s Filters Question
-
nfl-fanParticipant
Peeps,
Can anyone tell me if the standard Lee’s Foundation Kit holder is fine for usage with Wide Angle lenses e.g. Sigma 10-20mm?
I know that with Cokin for example there’s a standard holder and a wide angle holder. It looks to me that you have a standard filter holder with Lee’s but you need to buy a Wide Angle filter ring.
Cheers
JFintanParticipantThe wide angle filter adapter ring is just a lower profile ring to allow the filter holder sit extra close to the lens barrel
It’s often not necessary to have the lower profile ring, but I did have one for a 93mm Hasselblad lens.
Fintan
BTW Since I sold my digital equipment I have some adapter rings which I was about to advertise for sale, what sizes do you need?
nfl-fanParticipantCheers Fintan, appreciate that.
I was contemplating investing in the entire kit i.e. holder, filter ring(s) and filters.
77mm would be a starting point.
stcstcMemberi have a wide angle adapter ring that is 77mm on my 17-40 with the lees and it works great
the only thing with the foundation kit is if you plan to use the square lee polariser like i do, you need to then buy the upgrade kit to your holder so you can turn it independent of the grads
nfl-fanParticipantCheers for the info Steve.
I see the upgrade kit mentioned http://www.robertwhite.co.uk/product.asp?P_ID=1379&PT_ID=501&P=Filter-Holders as
Upgrade Kit
Contains a Foundation kit + tandem adaptor to join it to an existing Foundation kitI take it this is the piece of kit you are referring to?
Ta
Brian_CParticipantstcstcMemberyea the upgrade kit is that one
what it does is it slots into the first holder – the one you get with the foundation kit, and gives you another holder on the front
and they can both then turn independent of each other
Brian, the lees are too big for the P-series, they are 150 *100 so they need either their own holder or one of the z series i think will hold them (but check that first)

Well I need all my stuff except 3 adapter rings, I have the 77mm Wide Angle adaptor ring, the 72mm WA and Series 93 WA
I’d flog them for 25 euro each inc postage anywhere.
thewingMemberLads, i need to get see ND Grad filters, – what’s the best set up to start with from Lee? I don’t have any holders or adapter rings etc, and all my lenses bar one are 77mm
I would most likely order off robertwhite
Thanks in advance
