Gallop

I went yout to Brittas Bay early one overcast morning to see what I could find … nothing much as it turned out,

I was taking slow shutter shots and was using the remote release .. camera was set on “Timed/Remote”…

I was heading back to the car when I saw a horse approaching .. I had an idea for a shot so I set up the tripod in a hurry and set up for a burst shot … the rider approached and I went to take the shots … however, nothing happened….I hadn’t changed the setting from “Timed/Remote” and the countdown from 10 secs hadn’t passed 7 seconds and the rider was halfway down the beach!!

I was lucky as he returned a few minutes later,

I purposely left the shutter quite slow to capture the movement of the horse …

Anyway … any thoughts or suggestions are most welcome as always …

    Almost like a Muybridge-
Your second frame almost proves his hypothesis that a horse has all 4 hooves off the ground at once during a gallop-
unproved until he took his multiple pictures-

    Nice picture this one-

    Funny you mention that Joseph,

I did have something in the back of my head when I took this, but couldn’t quite nail it down,

    Muybridge it was …

    thanks

I really like this, very intriguing picture, I’d be chuffed to have taken something like this.
