A bit like chewing on a garden hose, but without the rubbery taste.
Outside a fish shop. At the bottom, but out of focus, there are fish in a crate, arranged like the old milk bottles.

    That is rubbery-
    as they say in China-

I’m a bit partial to it myself, anyway…

Sweet mother of God how could anyone put one of those in their mouth!

I always said there’s only a few foods in this world that I’d refuse to eat… usually anything extremely slimey… snails being top of the list… but the suckers on these things just throw me right off. I’d still try one though.

Fun to see something different like this.

They’re actually quite nice. Not scallop nice, more, well, like fish only tougher. Or rubbery as Joseph desclibes them as.

There was a video knocking around where they show people eating these buggers alive. You put a stick through the body and wrap the tentacles tight around the body…and I mean tight then stuff them in your mouth. Several people have dies because the octopus latched onto their throat and blocked their airway…allegedly.

They are quite nice…grew up on this stuff and it’s more of delicacy for me now.
Have to have you all over to my house..I make a wonderful squid and octopus stew.

Lovely shot Martin..I find that the markets in Asia are fascinating for photography.

    Thanks for sharing!

I’ve had squid… but less obvious than this… sort of battered and deep fried whilst in America… very tasty… American sized portion too (i.e. enough to feed a village in Africa for a week)… which always sits well with me as nfl-fan and food are sorta like Pacman and dots.
