    Hi
I’d like to get into making HDR images. I get the idea that its multiple exposures, so can these images only be created with still subjects and a tripod.
Any body know of any good +FREE software out there thats available?

Any tutorial sites out there too? From actually taking the multiple exposure pics to the processing of them?

I think that’s one of the best tutorials around, somebody linked it here not so long ago: http://stuckincustoms.com/2006/06/06/548/

Start with three images, shot at -1Ev, 0 +1Ev, shoot as JPG’s, download a free version of Photomatix. Open the files via this software, click Generate HDR. Once that’s generated, it needs to be tonemapped again in Photomatix. Tonemapping will allow you to play till your hearts content changing colours, tones, contrast, micro-contrast……

Go for it. Just be careful, HDR can produce some, eh how do I put it, HDR looking images. The trick is to get a final image that don’t look as if it’s been HDR’d. Have fun.
