Hi
Some shots from Egypt.
All cc welcome. The first was taken while sailing on the Nile, really beautiful weather and the locals are so friendly.
Only problem with the sailing was the lack of wind on the Nile.. needless to say we did’nt travel far :!: !The young girl was happy to pose for any amount of fotos, but expected pay for the privilege  !
Thanks
DerekmylesrantsParticipantthe first one needs cropped to focus on the bloke, as the out of focus sail plays with my eye
top marks on the second
nicely framed with the two girls attention splitExpresbroParticipantTwo really nice shots. I agree about the cropping..essential in my view..lose the OOF sail….
I think both shots would have benefitted from a little fill light… but easy for me to say…I wasn’t there…
I like the way the girl on the left is looking away from camera..maybe she was hoping to negotiate a better rate…hehe!!
And quite rightly too… :D
jb7ParticipantkellyseyeParticipantThanks for the feedback folks…did’nt see the OOF sail at the top, thanks for bringing it too my attention.
Expresbro: just wondering about the “fill light affect” is this achieved thru using filter? or am i missing the point?
Thanks again
Derek
wayneleoneMemberFill light can be achieve a number of ways. If you adjust the power of your flash to be a little under normal strength and use it when taking the picture it can help brighten the foreground, especially if there’s strong/harsh sunlight. You can also use a white card to reflect some of the light back into the models face to reduce the shadows etc. Not always convenient though when out and about.
You could also use Lightroom or PS to increase the fill light during processing.
I’m sure there are other ways to increase fill light.
ExpresbroParticipantJust as Wayne said Derek. It’s just a matter of using either a small amount of flash to lighten the face and the eyes…or if you can using a reflector or piece of white card to reflect some of the sunlight back.
Of course it’s not always possible…especially in the first shot say..and in that case..maybe not even necessary. But the second shot could definitely have benefited from a little..just to lift the shadows on her face.
Of course…sometimes if you’re out and about and shooting candids….you rarely have time or opportunity to worry about fill light
