    Hey

I am out doing photogs for a visitor centre project

this is one of the interactive ones

I better do it just as a link as its a quicktime VR thing and not sure if it will work in here

I am trying some new software too which is why there is the text on the thing

    anyway here it is

    Crikey Steve, that’s pretty cool.

Would you believe that I actually felt slightly dizzy whilst travelling around the shot.

Two quick questions: (1) How many images went into making this? (2) Do you use a dedicated pano head on your tripod or just a standard?

    Nice work.

The idea with the cows is great I think, but the contrast is way too much in my opinion. Unfortunately the weather is too good for this kind of thing during the day… you could try it very early in the morning or late evening with some softer light.

I is 12 images, using a manfrotto 303SPH and 338 leveling base. they fit on my manfrotto 055 XBpro

they are stitched using PTgui and retouched in PS to fix where the cows moved etc

then i used Pano2vr to make the QTVR

Randomway I agree about the contrast. but when your on a schedule to shoot so many locations etc. also i havent actually done any processing to the images i reckon i could flatten them a bit to help

the use of these is for an interactive unit in a visitor centre, so i can kind of get away with the image not always being as good as i would quite like them

    oh dear-
    getting away with things?

    This is quite low resolution-
the pixels get very large when you zoom in-

might be good to use a higher res image-

The herd of cattle are good-
but it looks like you set up the viewpoint to take advantage of them-
meaning that everything else in the view is quite far away-

not a whole lot of foreground interest except for the cattle-

As the zoom level is set by the browser,
might it not be better to take fewer shots on a wide angle, or fisheye?
this allows you to tilt up and down as well-

i saved it out very low res, its less than a meg

i can save out high res of around 50 but didnt want people having to work with that

i could of done more to give the tilt, but just felt it was enough in this instance, i am just doing another with a lot more tilt etc now,

    I have added another

this one has a full tilt on it

although there is no bottom, as the clients logo etc will be going there
