First good test for myself and my new D300, all I can say is im seriously impressed with the af and iso capability.
    1/250th iso 500 f9 handheld with sigma 100-300mm f4
Only editing was a slight crop and curves then resized for web.

Will post some more from the event if people want them.

I only photograph motorsports once a year so only practise i get is the 5 seconds it takes for the bikes to pass me.

    Thanks for looking.

This is a great capture… it’s sharp, it’s crisp, it’s well saturated… well almost… the white balance seems to be completley off… or maybe my eyes are!

I was thinking it should look a little more like this maybe?

Nhfl cheers for the comments and white balance adjustment, it does look better now.

Sean couldnt agree more the d300 is a great cam for action, only trouble im having is that I like the colours from my d200 more, will sit down and adjust the picture controls and save my personal taste settings then I will be 100% happy with it.

Brendan reference the d2x colour styles i have them installed in the cam now and im loving them, didnt like the d300 colour at all, nearly had me selling it again, but glad i found the d2x colourmodes.
    Cheers Gareth
