People Watching At The Races

First and third are good shots. First is definitely my favourite, the fella in the front’s face is a little bright but apart from that…. Second one has a few too many people looking at the camera.
How did you get the first one without the lads giving you a queer look.
Nice set
BrianLittle LadyParticipantMick451ParticipantDenverDollParticipantHi Mick~~
These are all good. The first in the second set is my favorite.
I’ve always wondered why no one ever says..Norman Rockwell…(of the Irish)
So I just did….
Fabulous!
Sharon
ExpresbroParticipant1 and 3 from the first set and No. 1 in the second. I think these would sit together well as a set.
Quirky and strange. Something about them reminds me of that movie about the monks with Sean Connery
jb7ParticipantThe Curragh?
I took some there last year, a good spot-Poor old Mick Hucknell looks like he tore up a few slips-
Shame about the ladies day lady bisected by the window frame-
might have been good to get her-Good set-

lousyParticipantYer man in the third of the first three looks like he’s just ‘lost his shirt’
Nice set Mick..#3 for me.Pat
Mick451ParticipantLast few.
Thanks for the feedback.
Just wanted to try something different to my usual efforts.
Probably do a few more race meetings.
Enjoyed it.nfl-fanParticipantChrist Mick.. you wanna start numbering these.
Super work here… #1 in the third batch is classic… truly a brilliant capture… not just the -> vs <- but also some of the finer detail... the 3 suits... yer man in the cap and leather jacket... the tan/yellow jacketed gent. LOL Mick Hucknall… brill that one too. Care to stop and tell the tale here?
Mick451ParticipantTa, NFL.
No tale to tell really, just wanted to shoot people for a while.
Need to take a break every no and then from the stuff I usually photograph, otherwise the lack of variety gets to me.
Thought I’d shoot people as it’s not something I normally do, and racecourses are pretty good for characters.
Plus, no one seems to mind being photographed.
Which is refreshing.
And fun.ossie13ParticipantMick great set, really like #1 from the third great capture…………….”now where that nice lad gone with my winning slip!!
Cheers Steve
randomwayMemberThe man on the left edge on the first photo reminds me on the TV show Father Ted. Looks like a priest, who is gambling with the donations.
Great characters… I had the same idea a while ago, to go out to the horses and shoot the crowd while they are completely occupied with the race. Good to see the variety in your work.
EvaBParticipant#3 from the first set, love the guys expression, he seems to be balanced by the tall man in the background.
#1 from the third set is magical, like the one above it tells a story and the balance is perfect.
RobMemberI’ve finally recovered from the fit of laughing I suffered after
the Mick Hucknall comment, so I’ll just add my tuppence…Most people have already mentioned the first image of the third
set, understandably. Your timing here is impeccable, a perfect
end result, lovely tension. Second in that set works in much the
same way, though not quite as dramatically…Overall, some great quality there. Whatever your sharpening method
for web display is, keep it up. The level of detail in these is as good
as you could ever get for a computer monitor…Of course this is a bit of problem for me with the first image of the
second set; that shirt and jacket must have been designed by
Akiyoshi Kitaoka. Every time I look at it I feel the need to either
lie down or hold on to something to retain balance…Rob.
