River Boyne / Slane pics

Was out was Steve and Martin at the weekend around the Slane area. Had a great time… As Steve has already posted a picture I suppose I should get my finger out and post some pictures as well ….

I am not overly happy about the foreground, but it turned out more difficult to clone out the rough patch to the right hand side than I thought, so I decided to leave it alone…..

    C&C welcome….

Hey Lawrence. Good to hear that you had a good day out. Hard not to with Steve and Martin (Steve Martin  ;) ), good guys.

I’d be interested to see this in b+w. I think that it could make this shot even better. The grass/flowers in the foreground might
show up real nice, leading up to the lone tree. You also have enough blue in the sky to make it dark.

    Just a thought.

Cheers Mark……………..maybe we should start a double act Martin :?:  :?:  :?:

Agree with Marl I think this would work better in B&W

I’ll follow the posse on this one – go B&W.

The one thing that does make my teeth grind on this one is the slightly off centre tree. It’s neither central, or purposely off to the side – it makes the image off balance somewhat. Maybe the sloghtest crop from the LHS would make it central without damaging the rest of the image.

Agree the foreground is not the best, another 2 foot left and it might have been better.

Like the colours in this, the blue and green are real nice shades. The tree sits up nice against the sky so the low angle you took it at works very well.

As for the B+W conversion im not convinced, would be a shame to lose the green and blue as they do look well. All i might do is play with the crop a bit, possibly crop of the bottom quarter

    Overall a nice pleasing image.
