Ok i was sittin havin a few drinks tonight at the PC just messin about and i set myself a challange to find (out of my stock) an image, process it into something and post it in 30 mins ! Now that was at 11:30 its now 00:09 and here is the image.
Am not sure i should do this after a few drinks ?
Comments and Critique welcome
RGH_PhotographyMemberIt may look over sharpened but my eyes are a bit blurry this evening sorry :P
As for the composition i remember setting up the camera so the rising sun set was just at the end of the lead in line or coast line if you wish. I was happy enough with that part.
DeeboParticipantHi Rick
Beer and photoshop usually dont mix, but this looks good.
Sky and houses look excellent its the rocks in the foregound that put the image off for me, they look plastic or over cooked
DeewayneleoneMemberI like this but the rocks in foreground seem too dark, in my opinion (could be my monitor) but other that that, it’s a nice image.
I like the timing of the sunset, you captured it just as it was about to disappear. Did you hang around after sunset? You often get nice a nice glow in the sky at that point.Madra RuaParticipantI’m not sure if I like it or not.
Compositionally it’s probbaly ok and from what i have seen of the place as good as you can do.
But the houses and beach have now a hand coloured b&w quality while the sunrise looks like a modern full coloured ’16bit’ sunrise photo.
In that way they seem like two seperate images blended together. However, that might not be a bad thing… i’m just not sureyet if it is
BrickeeParticipantComp is great but I am not sure about the processing. The sky looks very good but the land features look like maybe you should have had another drink. LOL.
Jim
RGH_PhotographyMemberAll very good points thanks and i did have a few more anyway Brickee ;)
I may come back to this one again and see if i can make something of it, i have 3 sets of this shot (9 exposures) I think it will have to be done without photomatix next time.
BrickeeParticipantTry five exposures -2,-1.0,+1,+2
About 30%power and 40-45%saturation. adjust white and black points to suit. then tone down gamma. See what you come up with.Jim
