Olympus E400(lens question)

Hi hoping someone might be able to help me out here.

My dads a keen photographer and uses the olympus e400 camera. He was interested to know if there is any alternative to purchasing olympus lenses-he recently met a man who has the same camera and this guy told him that he uses a Lens Adapter.
Does anyone think that using a lens adapter is worthwhile or when possible he should save his money to buy olympus lenses only?

I hope this makes sense as I’m not used to posting online about something i know very little about.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Suzanne

    Hi Suzanne…

I’m an Olympus user and I also use some old lenses with an adaptor. The adaptor is
called the OM-MF1 as far as I know, but there are all sorts of cheap ones available on
ebay for as little as a fiver and they work perfectly well. I have about four old OM-System
lenses for Olympus that I use on both the E-3 and the E-500 and they’re fantastic if you
don’t have any issues with manual focus. The newer Olympus lenses for the fourthirds
system are pretty expensive all right. I have two kit lenses that I don’t use anymore,
    a 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 and a 40-150mm f/3.5-6.3, so if he’s interested in either of those
let me know as they’re just gathering dust under the bed at the moment…

    Rob.
