I have just purchased Scott Kelby’s book 7-point system for CS3 and trying out some of the techniques on this sunrise shot.
C&C welcome.
BMParticipantNot sure about the heavy red cast” in the sky, but the composition is great and you have been well rewareded for your early start in the still water and the sunrise .
The flare also adds great effect.
What processing did you do?

Thnaks to all for the comments i used a combination of layer masks and blending modes to bring out the detail in both the
sea and sky.Mick
lousyParticipantLandLParticipantLooks very interesting. At first it looks that there is a snow.. Lovely picture :)
mgstParticipantderrycityParticipanti have been thinking about this book by Scott Kelby is it worth buying and has it helped you ,
looking at at your shot it’s very well captured with a nice colour tone to it

well donePhil i would highly recomend this book i have bought two other photoshop books and could not get into them
i spent about a week reading this one and really enjoyed it there are some great tips in it and found it has
increased my PS twofold.Mick
nfl-fanParticipantYep, it is a worthy book and it’s nice to see you put it to good use Mick. I think this shot has some fine attributes and any sort of sun based shot is tough to crack.
mgstParticipantCheers John and if i remember correctly you had recomended this book in another thread.
