I learnt the lesson…

.. food photography is not a game. You have to be dedicated, you have to be absolutely committed before you could flirt with it… I terribly failed today. I made tortelloni with mushroom, spicy tomato and sour cream sauce, with a bit of Parmeggiano Reggiano on the top, and once I was standing above the plate with camera in the hand I felt too weak and I had to eat it all…

I have to admit, this is like masochism. Anyways, let me know what’s your opinion on these very hurried images.

    Hi Zoltan~~

    Love the display here!

Very tempting and attractive…even makes me want pasta at 5:45am here!

Of course as usual..as is never an issue with you..the it is perfectly exposed and sharp.

Not sure which composition I prefer…I am still learning and trying to sort when to use a whole plate of food and when to use just a teaser of ingredients.

Thanks for helping to explain too…the dilemma that exists particular to real food photography. (By that I mean not jelled and sprayed and glued and toothpicked food photography.) How the window of time is fleeting not only because of the fragile fresh factor..but because of the overwhelming desire to devour factor.

Oscar suggested a 400mm lens. I think that would be a good idea if for no other reason than just to distance myself from my subject

    Love this….looking forward to more!
