Hi Sharon.
This lens is a fantastic piece of glass but it depends what you want it for.
It’s quite heavy so not ideal for a walk around lens, I use mine for Cricket and Football.
If you want a walkaround with the quality of this glass I think you should go for the 70-200: f/4 IS.
That is ideal for most situations except filming sports indoors or filming sports outdoors when its murky and gloomy.

I have to admit, for now, my skills far from justify investing that much money in a single lens.
