Really like that third one, Rob.
Lovely repeat pattern and perspective, leads you right into the image and the mountains.
Reminds me somewhat of Martin Parr’s work.
    Great documentary feel to it.
    You using a 5×4 crop?
    Suits them images.

Rob, I think you take really great photos, the third shot above is absolutely outstanding, and the airport shot from yesterday, and the chimney shot, are also excellent…they have a really classic look about them. You really know your stuff, way more than I ever will…..so I hope you don’t resent it when I say….I can’t understand why you posted the other 3 photos in this series – nothing interesting in them for me, ditto the catamaran shot in B&W..I’m puzzled more than anything…apologies in advance.

I looked at these yesterday.. and before reading the comments left by others #2 jumped off the page. Content wise it’s very, very good plus it also has that excellent technical finish to it similar to the airport shot.

There’s something about #4 that appeals to me also… I think the plane just adds that little something extra to this… and the composition is good taking the couple in the bottom right as a starting point.

    Looking at them again today.
Number 4 definitely has something too.
Like the composition and variety of poses.
And, as NFL says, the plane gives it an extra dimension.

I really like the third one. The rest are kind of plain or look like there was too much effort trying to find a scene.

The third one is great, Rob. Plenty in it to keep your interest.. You can look at it for ages!

I think the other three just remind you of the heat, now your back in the rain!! :D

Thanks to all for the comments.

I had an idea that the third would attract the most attention, though I’ve
ordered these by my own personal preference, the fourth being my own
favourite. The first is probably relatively unremarkable, except that in that
light, the people should be almost silhouettes, so it was an exercise really
in selective lightening. The second is all about the swan-shaped pedaloes
breaking the horizon. The third, as noted, is pure repeating pattern. The
fourth was a matter of waiting until the participants were far enough into
the water with some separation between them and no one walking across
my path before I clicked the shutter. The plane was pure luck…

btw, they’re all 4×3 crops, same as my sensor…

    Rob.
