More Junior Hurling from Limerick

I went to the Limerick Junior Hurling League final with Tiny last night. Here’s a few for C&C.

I found that being on the end line was a lot better that having been on the sideline in previous matches. One the sideline everyone seems to have their back to you most of the time. Whereas on the end line the players are at least facing you occasionally :D

    Well done Harry Lime.

Yes the end line is the best with the type of lens we have.
It may be ok for some of the professionals to be on the sidelines with their longer focal lens.
If you watch some of the big games at Croker, Thurles etc, most of the photographers are on the end line.

On the first photo, if you can, try and get the ball in the frame, other than that – good shots

    Cheers Denis.

I agree that having the ball in frame is crucial normally, but in this case I thought that the expressions tell you exactly where that ball is – the back of the net!

I’m hoping to be able to head to the Limerick v Offaly game tomorrow night.

Third one best for me.. Lack of a sliotar in first one takes a bit away from it.. Like the atmosphere in the second..

    Good stuff.

I find hurling a difficult game to shoot, very fast and add a overcast sky and little white ball and you have a headache.

I like these shots Harry, nicely composed and pin sharp. Congrats on getting one published.

P.s. agree wit you about the endline, only place to go, but with the hurling can be a wee bit dangerous.

    Thanks Ken.

Another point re: the endline. I found that I got better opportunities the closer to the goal mouth I went, even though I also felt that I was putting my equipment in danger a little. Having played a bit of hurling, I know that anything can happen in and around the goalmouth.
