Problem with Nikon D300

Wondering if anyone can help with a problem I’m having with my Nikon D300.

Last night I tried to turn it on but nothing happened,I tried both batteries that were fully charged but still doesn’t work.
The viewfinder still remains fussy and dark and the CF light doesn’t flash.
I left the camera in the on position overnight and the next morning the LCD was displaying the number of shots left on the card and the viewfinder was clear but the camera still wouldn’t turn on, took the battery out and put it back in and again everything gone.
Does anyone have any ideas what this could be or what I could do?
    Lost without it!
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi I am no expert but sounds like a power issue, have you tried a different battery? Are your batteries genuine Nikon ones?

Are the batteries fully charged? Try a fully charged battery with no memory card or lens!

Also try the 2 button reset as per the manual?

If all else fails take it to a Nikon repairer! Best of luck Steve

Yea I have two proper Nikon batteries, both fully charged. Tried removing the lens and card and tried the reset.
Looks like ill have to send it in and get a quote on it, probably cost more then the camera is worth.
    Thanks for your reply.
