    Hi Aimee-

This could perhaps do with a little darkening-
but the overriding impression I get is perhaps not being close enough to see any detail-

The picture seems to be framed for the interior,
    as much as the woman-

    Did you shop there?

I take the point regarding detail…..my initial thought on seeing it was, it might be better zoomed in more on the face; but on second thoughts I think if you are travelling through a place like India, and just have a series of faces, then you lose the context of who the people are, namely where they were and what they were doing….this one has some nice background detail – I like the sache’s of washing powder on the interior back wall – i.e. that this is all she has in the shop. As for the face, yes a little bright, it just looks like its caught in the sunlight a little too much, although it was clearly early in the day. I like it.

Thanks for the honest feedback guys!

No, I didn’t shop there. Her son saw me with the camera and asked if I wanted to take her pic and she obliged – so it was a split second decision to capture what she was doing and her setting. I’m not a big one for taking the close up face travel shots. Maybe that’s a bad thing but I prefer to see s bit of the scene too.

Looked at your website, we have been in a lot of the same places. Had to laugh when i saw Pisco mentioned; I spent my birthday there a few years ago. I found photography in Peru quite difficult because it was so overcast there, and because people didn’t like having their photo taken…..memory is standing on a mountain pass, of which the guidebook said ‘Truly this is one the finest views in South America’ and we couldn’t see more than ten feet…….I’d say Semana Santa in cusco was good fun.

Haha Liam – you were in Pisco eh? Loved it there but I wouldn’t be sure that everyone would!

The start of Semana Santa fell on the same day as Paddy’s day. So erm it was fun to say the least ‘’
