I find the composition a bit akward… very little space beneath the swan’s beak where it’s needed most… but lots elsewhere.
Also.. if you have something like Photoshop.. try something like Levels – Auto Levels just to take the hazed look off the image.
Other than that.. it’s not bad.. it’s sharp and well detailed.. it’s just not easy to make swans extremely exciting.. I photographed some during the week and whilst they are extremley elegant creatures it’s hard to make a swan shot stand out from the crowd.
The detail in the feathers and the water droplets is amazing.
I agree with NFL-Fan though – some work in levels to take the greyness out of the background would work wonders. But first a severe crop on the left hand side, to within an inch of the swan, and a crop on the topside, again to within an inch of the swan would make the composition better.
But as a I say, there’s superb detail in this shot.
Thanks for the comments, I have Photoshop & paint shop but I only started using them in the last week .
I made a few changes, but im new to using these programs so I don’t know what I can do on them yet.
