3 from Santorini

Love the first one Paul .looks like something a travel brochure would use as a romantic getaway (maybe you should email hotels or travel companies) The second is nice also with the flowers leading the eye into the photo, the third has a sense of isolation but i find the boat a bit lost in the vastness of the lake, I know its hard to convey the boat and the far cliff edge.Overall all nice
mehfestoParticipantAmazing set, this.
The first one is a stunner. Great colours in it and the sea looks beautiful. A very calming picture. two thumbs up!The second one is like one from a travel brochure, I think. I like the flare in it myself. Great compisition too.
The third is my least favourite, but is still a lovely picture. Some foreground interest would’ve made it.
Nice work.
jb7ParticipantNo matter where you go in Greece,
you’ll find postcards of Santorini-
probably one of the prettiest towns anywhere-I’m a bit surprised to see the jetties empty in the second,
though it’s a long time since I’ve been there-
maybe there’s a different arrangement now-Good pictures these, good to see the place again-
Though the flare in the second would bother me a little;
a tilt down, a little to the left, and slightly tighter might have cured that-And I know it’s a sunset,
but would a little less warmth suit it better?j
flynnyParticipantThanks for looking lads, thanks for the comments, I suppose the warmth thing is a matter of personal taste, as regards the flare, this caused me problems all week, I’m using what I think is the right gear, ie lens hood, uv filter, and in some cases a ND 4 filter. But still seem to be getting some flare.
Picture No. 3 was an attempt to show the scale of the cliff and the town on top.
Anyway if I didn’t get it right this time I’ll just have go back and try again…………………! :)RobMemberNice to see some quality material showing up in the Travel forum.
I reckon if the image makes me want to visit the place, then it’s
pretty much nailed what travel photography should be. Another place
I have to visit now…Rob.
