I have recently bought a motorbike and its one of the best things I’ve ever done, I rarely use the car at all!
I’m active on one of the Irish biker sites and regularly meet up with the lads for spins in wicklow. A few of us want to get out and take some photos of eachother on the bikes, a few action shots when cornering etc would be great.,
I’ve never done anything like this and I’m looking for advice on how best to shoot these.
Also, on the off chance, if there is anyone here that would actually like an opportunity to take some photos of some nice bikes (Ducati’s etc) zooming around wicklow etc, then let me know and I can set something up!
Take a trip into the sports section and you’ll see there’s tonnes of road racing/motocross stuff in there as well as some conversations on technique.
For the classic panning shot.. a fast AF lens/camera combo, multi-point AF, shutterspeed around 1/80, pre-metered on the background/foreground, track the subject/move smoothly, fire repeatedly from just before the subject is in position until just after they’ve left position. It takes practice and you’ll got lots of rubbish but some winners from it. Others may have better techniques or methods that work for them.
