Dukes Bends, Skerries 100 Road Races 2008

Hi all, this is a shot taken at Dukes Bends at this years Skerries 100 road races. I was testing out my Nikon 70-300 VR lens. Lens worked well on the day, but 300 just wasn’t long enough for some shots. I will post more shots of the races when I get a chance.

    C&C welcome.

Hi there, I don’t think its your connection. I’m having difficulty with my embedding. Followed advice in embedding on the site but it seems that only I can see my images. See can you view the following as this is the URL that is used between the tags.

Might be better off uploading these to pix.ie as they gove you the embed code in the url bit!

    Nice shot of the 125s(?)
Lovely DOF and a great feel of action as they are all tucked in with their heads down

Hi Richard, Thanks for the comments. Yeah its the 125cc race, riders front to back are Samuel Dunlop 33, Jeff Shaw 7, Nigel Moore 86 and I don’t know who 88 is. Apart from Baldungan corner, this was the best spot I found all day. I was setup with a bunch of other photographers at the entrance to a farm. Could get great shots of the riders coming around the bend and then down the straight towards us.

Depth of field is nice on this one, but I have to admit it was more of an accident. :-)

At first I was unsure about No. 7 being sharp and everyone else looking a bit blurred but I guess it adds an element of motion and draws the viewers attention to the centre of the image.

    Thanks
