Mountain sunrise, Fahan, Co Donegal

Or more precisely, near Fahan.
I came across this one while out walking the dog at the weekend, but it needed decent morning light, so despite a rather unpromising and soggy start at an ungodly hour on Monday morning, the sky cleared for just enough time to get this, before turning flint-like again.

Beautiful image, I really like it, it has a great composition….
Stunning image. I love all the detail in the clouds with the sun just breaking through. The light in the background gives the picture a very magical quality… sort of Lord of the Rings-ish!

Very nice, all that foreboding sky and a little private pool of light

Super shot John. Would have a play with selective colour in PS especially with the greens and yellows. Had a play myself with the image and think its possible to get more from the shot. Its a great shot and worth spending some time on. well done

Thomas: Sure the poor aul’ dog needed a walk, and that spot was the only bit of sunshine for practically the whole weekend!
Martin: If you still have it, could you post your result? I need to sit down and figure out how to use selective colour, so might be as good a time as any to do it.
