What constitutes a Lo-Fi Camera?
I have taken out my old Canon AV-1 and stuck a 1 year old roll of colour film
in and have really enjoyed using a fully (ish) manual oldie.Does this fall into the Lo-Fi or Film section?
I may post some results from my tricking around.

emjayParticipantNot sure if there are any official definitions of “Lo Fi” in this context.
However I doubt that a Canon AV-1 could be thought of as Lo Fi
(It could be looked as being low tech compared with developments in cameras since it was first introduced.)However if your AV-1 is is in good working order .. shutter speed accuracy, metering etc and of course if the lens is still in good condition, you could probably get images that would compare favourably modern day DSLRs – if you have a good scanner
I think lo fi refers vaguely to stuff like pin hole cameras, or the famous Holga and similar
Cheers
:)
MarkKeymasterYou should post any photos for comment/critique in the Critique forums to be honest.
Regardless. the Canon AV-1 wouldn’t be considered as LoFi. :)

Thanks for the info regarding the AV. its been a while since I used it
and while I really enjoy it after using the EOS system for years it seems
a bit LO-FI ! :lol:Thanks lads.

EddieParticipantYou could always put them up in the Film Photography section if you dont want C&C on them. Look forward to seeing them.
aoluainParticipantThanks eddie,
ah no ill post them in the relevant ctitique section, but then I dont get too much
response to my posts so maybe not :(It will take another while to use the film, im still mainly using the 5d but i am looking forward to
seeing the results, its a good while since i used it!thanks again.
aoluainParticipantHere are some results from the AV-1 which I posted in the relevent esctions
earlier this week!
I suppose it does’nt come under the Lo-Fi section after all!https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?t=21086

Thoughts welcome.
EddieParticipantThe second one is a nice piece of work, it has a lovely old look to it and the film grain adds to the mood. Well done.
