Just wondering what people listen to when tinkering either in the darkroom or photoshop?
I sometimes listen to my ipod in the darkroom… Only when I’m on my own though. There is a fair amount of swearing in our college darkroom… I guess thats normal?
Lately when I’m using PS or LR I have been listening to ‘Hat Fitz and Itchy’ on MySpace http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=117808295 you might need to be on MySpace to listen (I dunno why, but I hate all them facebook, beebo, sites) If you like blues it’s worth joining just to hear these guys.
I read in an interview Michael Kenna listens to audio books when he is working in the darkroom.
So… What you all listening to?
richiehatchMemberI do most of my processing in the evenings…. listen to Newstalk all the time and because its in the evenings its Off the Ball most of the time…! As for music… I find that I actually like to sing at the top of my voice (and I dont think i can sing…! ) to Jeff Buckley, The Doors or recently to the Once soundtrack…! Just to annoy the missus as she watches EastEnders

Mick451ParticipantUsually have iTunes on shuffle so anything from Elvis / Nina Simone / Frank Sinatra / T-Rex / Sabbath / Skynard / LedZepplin / Kasabian / Kings Of Leon / White Stripes / Goldfrapp / Faithless … though if it’s in the early wee hours I’ll put the Bladerunner soundtrack on, or some Mike Oldfield / Philip Glass / Michael Nyman / Zero7 / chill-out sessions. Have a big preference for 60s/70s and drum & bass. At work I might plug in to lastfm.com when I want to get some headspace.
JodyParticipantsomething easy listening for me…if I don’t have the radio or TV on, like M.Ward’s Transistor Radio
But I do like Off the Ball, and now the Alison Curtis show

Most recently though it’s been Notwist, Efterklang, Tortise, Sufjan Stevans and Pearl Jam – Live at the Gorge
thommacParticipantdepends on my mood but lately it has been God is an astronaut (instrumental Irish band)
8)
either that or put the mp3 player (i dont do ipod/itunes) on shuffle.
:twisted:nfl-fanParticipantRather than name a zillion tunes… some dating back to the 60s… the one album I’ve been listening to most of late is “Rock n Roll Jesus” by Kid Rock… like that one a lot for some reason.
BMParticipantWhat about music for the mood?
Wagner, Ride of the Valkyries (the beginning of Act III of Die Walküre) for stormy skies
Holst, The Planets for spooky scenes
Khachaturian’s Adagio from the ballet Spartacus (Theme from “Oneidin Line”) for stormy seas

That Kid Rock song in the charts at the moment is the most annoying song in Christendom
GrahamBParticipantPeteTheBlokeMemberI don’t have a darkroom, but I work to music most of the time.
Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Kasabian, Pulp, Jethro Tull, Mozart, Beethoven, Fauré, Dvorak, Led Zep, Saint-Saens, Mussorgsky
… the normal mix.I don’t like MP3s/iTunes much because of the loss of quality, and I hate those earplug things with a passion.
If I had a darkroom I’d listen to Radio 4 in there.
scotty38886Memberi recently bought an ipod i touch so i have my entire collection on it so i just put it on shuffle but i do like easy listening and singer songwriter.
