Selling Pictures From flickr?

Someone has emailed me re one of pictures on flickr… The picture was of the persons partner and they would like a copy… I have no idea how much to charge for this? Also, for this sort of thing would most of you use a pro lab or is a print from Jessops OK? If I use a pro lab is going to be more expensive. They did not say what size they were after.
Any help/advice appreciated.

Were they just looking for a print? From time to time (not near as often as I would like) I sell one print to someone cause they like it or like in this case cause they know the person. I don’t think you should charge them a fortune but at least make a little bit for yourself and cover your costs. In the past I have charged €50 for an A4 print only. I get it printed online, check it and post it to the person in the cardboard it came in. I know some people will say this is too little and perhaps those who will say this is too much but I’m happy with it and people who buy the photo are happy also.
It would be a totally different ball game if the person was a business or if the photo was for some other purpose.

for the printing..the latest(august i think) digital photography magazine has a whole section on online printing companies and which are the best for price and qualityetc. , pick it up if you can because it shows you all the different prints from differnt companies so that you can make your mind up for yourself,, but what they said..which i dont entirely agree with is..

For highstreet dropin conviience, the snapfish/jessops connection is a better bet than kodak express.
for purely online ordering and postal delivery, photobox
for ametuer and pro, keynsham photo offers highly impressive print quality at a good price.
At the upper end, south west colour labs and loxley colour both offer stunning prints but, in our tests, loxley consistently worked out better, mainly due to hand colour correction being offered within the standard price.:D..that took ages to write..it better be useful :P
I have been using Photobox for a while now, and whilst I find them quick and convenient the last few images I have had them print have been fairly poor quality. I checked the images on my computer again and I definately uploaded images that were sharp even at 100% but the print that came back looked soft. They were good when I first started using them, maybe it was just a bad batch, but it makes me a bit wary getting prints through them again.
Jeeze monty! Fair play… Will print that out.
I’ve heard of another company that are supposed to be brilliant, can’t remember the name now though :roll: Will have to ask again!

I have sold a few at the request of people viewing,
I charge 29.95euro plus P&P and they get Print 8″x6″ in
a mount total size 12″x10″(30cmx25cm)ready for framing…
