OK, this was not taken on a lofi camera (mods, move if you need to), but it’s a lofi shot. Was going to bin this shot as it is so OOF, but thought that a b&w conversion and sharpening for grain would make it look as if it was taken on a crappy camera 50 years ago. The lens flare centred on my youngest and the tension in the scene makes it work, but wdyt:
MartinOCParticipantI like it, its a great shot.
The dog looking at the boy in swing, the girl looking at the other boy who is looking at the boy in swing, and the general composition is great.
Diverse elements all leading back to the centre, even the flare frames it nicely. There is a sense of expectation/tension, as you say,- what is he going to do?
There was a discussion before about crap cameras (Tesco throw-a-way) vs low fi cameras (toy cameras). I would say this is a great shot from a crap camera, but in general low-fi is for photos from cameras that people intentionally use for more off-beat effects. There are always discussions about categorisation. Thankfully its often not clear cut, but no one is dogmatic here.

Thanks for the positive feedback and pragmatic interpretation of the post.MarkKeymasterMartinOCParticipantI had a 350D until it died, now I have a 400D.
I have been trying to get mine to emulate Tesco disposables, but haven’t yet developed the right PS actions. You, on the other hand have nailed it well, excellent work :D
sorry!

b318ispParticipant…and that’s with a L lens too! So, I’ve just proved that a lofi shot is produced by a half decent camera and a good lens – so spend more for worse photo’s! I’ll get me coat.
