emjayParticipantHaven’t bought a lens for a few years but when I did I bought a lot from
http://www.warehouseexpress.comAlso bought some stuff accross the counter in Jessops in Derry
Also bought a Canon 10D back in umm 2002 from Ffordes ( http://www.ffordes.com )
And have bought stuff from Magees Pharmacy in Letterkenny. They don’t compare with Jessops, Warehouse Express on choice of stock etc. But sometimes they have good stuff at a very competitive price
example – I just bought a Canon 40D there in June this year for 849 Euro less 150 euro cashback. At the time that was pretty close to as good a price as you could get, especially as there was no postage costs etc. :) ( http://www.magees.ie is the website and follow links to get their listing of photo equipment and prices )
fstop89564ParticipantA place called Roberts Imaging here in the states
good place if your ever over this way
martinbParticipantTry
They are in Scotland.
Over the years I have bought alot of bits off them, every thing has been in near New condition, order on line and have it in 2-3 days.
I had a small problem with a lens , returned it and it was back fully serviced with 14 days.
They will also sell any gear for you and take commission.
Regards.

suspectmonkeyMemberI tend to use Warehouse Express for a lot of my gear and have always received fast service from them. I also had to return an item (unsuitable rather than faulty) and had no problems at all. I’ve bought some smaller items in the past from 7dayshop.com and they have been okay. For lenses I tend to keep an eye on mpbphotographic.co.uk who sell pre-owned lenses and there are definately some bargains to be had on there. That said I havent actually ordered a lens from them yet, but when I spoke to them on the phone they appeared friendly enough.
steelydanParticipant7 Day Shop can give a few bargains. It seems that the Hong Kong route has been narrowed recently ( too much free advertisement about customs dodging).
The place where i got most of my stuff in the past was URGalaxy and they done seem to have much stuck anymore.
I have one more place left that i got my replacement Tokina from, if you want to PM me ill pass it on.In fact if anyone wants to Pm me I’ll pass it on. Best kept secret
shutterbugParticipantAs mentioned already, 7dayshop is very good and are at the
moment having a sale, loads of Canon gear reduced. Although
theoretically you should pay import duty from Jersey I have never
been asked to.ben4130ParticipantDepending on what i am buying and urgency i split it between . b&h in new york, Gunnes on wexford street and 7 day shop all fantastic places.
Bartek WitekParticipantI recommend:
http://www.warehouseexpress.co.uk or http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk
I have bought from both of them and I am very happy.I have also bought lens once from here:
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/123fstop_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZQQ_mdoZ
He have sent me an invoice few days after. To get warranty you have to register in Canon website.
Lens brand new. Good packaging.BMParticipantI have heard that Kerso is very good for prices and service, although his e-bay shop is empty at the moment:
