Got this shot at my blues summers school, 90 old blokes discussing guitars and string gauges, nerdy or what !

Had to add this guy he was really great, I like the life times experience on his face. Tried these in colour but they just don’t work for me, comments if you like, I am going through a black and white phase.

Great shots, I really like the lighting in number 2.

    Hi there,

Yeah totally agree with PD_BARBS, second shot is great, subject really stands out. Might be just my screen, but I would try and sharpen his face and make some of those lines just a little more visible. Although this might not work if there is some high ISO noise present.

Curious how you metered this, spot?

Nice shots. I like the conversions, #2 is a keeper IMO.

Nuthin’ wrong with guitars and string guages Bev, sounds exactly like my cup of tea…

As mentioned, second one’s definitely a keeper; excellent framing of your subject and
a lovely conversion to mono. The first image is let down a little by the intrusiveness of
the microphones, but it’s not terrible either. Looks like a great bunch of characters to
    photograph…

Thanks for the kind comments, I think I may have found my subject matter at last !
ssheridan, I spot metered, 1/80 at f4 iso 800, quite a lot of noise as there was very little visable before conversion, in colour it looked dreadful so I did a conversion in Lightroom, my programme of choice at the moment. A photographer friend who introduced me to Lightroom suggested I print out of it, any thoughts?
