Killarney Swans.

Taken at dawn last year on a lovely autumn morning in Killarney.
Its the lake next to Ross Castle…the light was just striking the
tops of the mountains and overall the mood was just lovely.

    First impressions . . .

    It seems a bit “busy”.

I would crop out the left hand side as I think it is drawing the eye away from the all
important swans which are nicely illuminated.

    But

It is a very beautiful scene with nice colours and nice light.
    I like it.

Its a very striking image, I like it a lot…..I wouldn’t crop the left if it means losing the mountains, they are what i like most about it……would maybe look at a tighter crop on the foreground and the sky though…

I agree with Aoluain about the left hand side. The problem is that if you crop it you are going to lose some of the mountain which is a crucial part of the composition.

I might have been tempted to have taken a step or two to your right to allow you to bring in the mountain behind the swans and cut out some of the bank.

The colour is beautiful though and the processing is very good.

Beautiful scene and well exposed, but the composition isn’t right for me. Has the potential to be a stunning image.

Tried a few times to go left…..is’nt much space there as the water
flows in around to the right….also the parent swans were’nt happy with
me being there…..can see what Andy means alright.
    Any compositional tips Slideordie?
