Like this one. You can almost feel the power in the water. Like the B+W adds to the shot. No suggestions just like it how it is

    Cracker, love it.

Maybe you could crop up from the bottom slightly to remove the edge of the pier (or whatever) in the bottom left hand corner? But it doesnt distract from the action!

Perfect timing and a really powerfull shot which works very well in B&W.

While I like the image, and it certainly is dramatic, it sort of falls down compositionally. The eye is drawn to the middle of the picture which in this case doesn’t really work. The shot is also crooked – the lamp-posts are all leaning in to the right.

It can be very difficult under these sorts of circumstances (dramatic weather, rapidly changing scenery, trying to time the perfect shot), but if you pay attention to the rules of composition you can turn a good shot like this into something truly special.

I do like the B&W conversion, I think the tones and contrast work very well. I would like to see the building on the pier to the right of the wave a bit lighter though – it looks like a lot of it has gone black.

    Cheers,
    Peter
