Taken on St. Helen’s Bay Saturday morning… Jess The Springer liked it… so I decided to post:
jessthespringerParticipant:mrgreen: I do like it, I liked a few more of them as well, but think this one kinda stood out, I think it’s the darkness of the rocks, leads the eye to the light, movement in the water is good and I like the light from the lighthouse.
These type of shots are hard… Tried a couple of times and never got anything as good as what you have on flickr.
Sinead.
brownieParticipantcathaldParticipantStunning colours and a nice soft effect on the water
25 seconds did you use the B+W or was the light low enough at the time
good to see you out doing a few sea scapes againnfl-fanParticipantCheers folks.
Cathal.. pretty dark it was Cathal… we had to use flash lights to walk down to the beach it was that dark. It wasn’t the most inspiring of mornings and I’m surprised I managed to get anything half decent. Wish we had more variety in the beaches here in the WX… St. Helen’s is one of the few with a bit of character to it as far as seascapes goes.
b318ispParticipantaoluainParticipantDeeboParticipantI like it too John. The twinkle from the lighthouse makes this I think.
Maybe the square crop is not best suited, maybe lose part of the sky or beachDee
mcmartinParticipantFantastic shot John, wonderful light… and great effect in the water… kind of misted your photos here…
JodyParticipantnfl-fanParticipantCrikey… surprised by the response. Revisiting a style of photography I hadn’t done in what seems an age I sorta lost my mojo for it a bit.
Thanks everyone… glad you like it.
J
HelenMParticipantThis is a stunning example of it’s ‘genre’. Amazing colour too.
Just one wee niggle for me; the colour in the seaweed to the left kinda takes my eye: but hey, wish I could come up with this quality!kensutzParticipantMadra RuaParticipantAlan RossiterParticipantWere we at the same beach???? Only for the red stripe I’d say this was from a back catalogue. I wasn’t impressed with my own at all and was going to attempt a processing frenzy tomorrow evening…don’t think i’ll bother now.
Alan.
