    Taken at Graiguenamanagh,Co.Kilkenny last February,
the heron was a bonus…it was shot from a car window.

Love this one Noel. Live not far from here. Exposure and lens details?

    Thanks Padraig..taken on a Canon 30D with the 70-200 f4 IS lens,
    f11 1/2 sec…car window leaning on a jumper…can’t get any more
    upmarket than that?

    Noel.

God almighty, you did this from a car window!
I’m only starting out with photography, I could try all day and
not get the beauty you captured. It’s lovely.

The reason for the car window was that the heron would
have gone the minute i opened the door….thanks Nollaig,

    Noel Browne.

The herons are bastards for that alright, it’s like they can sense a camera lens no matter how far away it is :D Lovely shot by the way.

Nice shot., even without the heron. I like the symmetry from the reflection of the arches in the water. Well done.

Lots of interest, and the heron really is the icing on the cake…just beautiful!

Heron makes this shot fantastic… bit busy composition, maybe shallow DOF would be much better, great conversion

Thanks for all the comments…as regards DOF, it was really just a chance shot…think i got 3 off
before he flew away…but i usually try to get things in landscape shots sharp from front to back
anyway and the camera was already set to f11….i can see what you mean though Martin.

Great photo but for me there is a little bit too much detail, too much going on it, too complex, but then again it was a snap shot so fair play for opportunism.
