I’m always fascinated by your travel images Liam, and more than a little
envious that you’ve been to such out of the way places…
It doesn’t look to be the safest bridge you could cross, does it? It’s a pity
that you weren’t a little lower on the shot to take in more of the near side
of the river and the approach to the crossing; the crop of the bottom spoils
this just a bit for me. The exposure is a little hot, with some burnt out areas
in the sky, but nothing beyond rescue if you shot in RAW…
Hi Rob, many thanks for your comments. The photo linked below was not taken by me, but by a chap I was travelling with at that time. His photo is taken from the other side of the bridge. The point where I took my photo from, where the bridge meets the bank, was quite high on the bank, so I guess it would have been difficult to take in the near side of the river though I can’t say for sure, perhaps should have done it in Profile rather than Landscape (at the time was on a tight budget and film was a big part of the daily expense) ….you are right it would make for a better photo.
Also, you can see from the photo below there were two bridges. One was in disrepair. The other was in good nick, and had a lot of pedestrian traffic, and we did walk across (though am not sure I’d do the same now).
