Its an excellent image, not a technique i usually use so i can’t give critical analysis, except to say I like it a lot. A small touch I like is the acorn leaf, how clear it is and how it is aligned with the tall tree. One small issue, the image is too large to see in its entirety, on my screen at least.

    Hi MArtin,

I like this, it has more detail than your last posts.
I feel though that im wandering all over the place
and cannot focus on a particular aspect, strange.
the land behind the tree is distracting and is taking
away from the stillness of the image and i know
you can do nothing about that.

I like the IR FROSTY feel to this also.

Another great shot, although with this one the composition could be improved a bit. Seems like this is the day of the diagonal in critiques – you have positioned the tree directly above your foreground, which doesn’t make for as strong a shot as if there is a diagonal between them.

Moving to the right would have accomplished this, although it looks like you might have to get your feet wet to get the shot.

    Cheers,

i would have been 1meter deep in the water if i’d done that… this is 3:2 format directly from the camera, without crop, so i did whatever i could to position this shot

Your tripod goes higher than 1 meter, surely? =)

not this one, it is about to retire, it randomly detaches its legs… so i rather would like to put it to 1 meter deep water and drown my camera accidentally, I’m about to do major shopping… manfrotto both tripod and ball head…, few filters and one lens…so i will be able to do more extreme tripod positioning

i like this, it’s as if the tree were positioned on ice.
