Lens advice.

I am a beginner with a K100D with the standard kit 18-55mm lens. I also purchased an old 80-200mm lens (completely manual).

I have general interest in landscape, streetscape and just general photos.

I want to upgrade my glass quality, at a reasonable price, and need advice on what lens I should invest in; should I replace my kit lens with another 18-55 (or
similar), or get something different (perhaps a 18-250)?

    All advice welcome!

I would recommend an 18-50 f/2.8 by either sigma or tamron. I would avoid the large zooms like the 18-200’s. Whatu gain in range u lose on quality

Am I right in saying that Pentax have tried to keep all their customers happy by
making their new digitals compatible with the old Takumars? or some of them.

Some of those old Tak’s can be quite good even by todays standards, at a very low cost.
ok you will have to manually focus and maybe use stop down metering but
you would have image stabilization on all lenses.
