So here’s my first post. Hope it will be the first of man. Took this on my way back from Dublin to Cork during the week. So C & C welcome, Thanks in advance. :D
I like pictures of the sun, probably because we dont see it that often and
it reminds me what it is like to have a normal summer, I like the sky and
the way the sun makes the lovely star shape, I think the foreground and the
tree are a little bit dark and the detail gets a bit lost, I am not sure what to
do to rectify this happening, I have been reading (the famous) Understanding
Exposure which is great and some of the information is starting to sink in, like
when taking pictures of the sun to take a reading from the left or right of the sun
to set exposure recomposing and then shooting. You have framed the tree
nicely and the detail in the sky is good.
Thank’s for your comments. I completely agree with your comments on the darkness of the tree and the foreground. Tried to do some post processing but seeing as I’ve only had my camera and pp software with a week I’m finding it difficult to brighten the tree / foreground whilst still keeping the starry effect on the sun. But thank you for your opinion.
You have some sharpening halo’s i think as well? If you look around the tree, you can see where the dark branches meet the sky, there is some light areas. I know how to avoid them in Photoshop, but not gimp.
