Ok, so Argos have dropped the price of the D40 kit from €450 to €375,.. so I guess I’ll follow suit.

    All above now €350 !!!

I’ll leave this on offer for another week or so, after that I’ll probably just keep it. It’s a lovely camera to use and I really don’t want to have to sell it.
The only reason I’m selling is that I ‘ve also got a D80 and I can’t really justify having both…..

Hi, I also had my D40 on sale, I eventually sold it on ebay, all I got was 250euro, I went into work and one of the guys I work with told me to keep an eye out as he was looking to buy a camera he could start with.
I have to be honest and sayI was looking for 300, I really don’t think you’ll get 350, (you can buy a new one for about 320 online) If you still have it and you want I can give my mate your phone number?? et me know.

By the way I’ve also bought a D80,(waiting on delivery) is there much of a difference??

    Cheers

*edit* just noticed that its you who offered your kit. I don’t think he meant to say pretending, I think he’s just a non native who didn’t know how to phrase his sentences :)

Yeah, reading it again, your probably right…. I may have over-reacted a tad!….
It had been a long day, it was about 1:30 last night, and I was wreaked tired when I wrote that.

As for the camera, it appears that it’s worth more to me than anyone else, so I think I’ll just hang on to it :)

To be honest, I haven’t had it very long so I haven’t really had a chance to see yet. The main reason I upgraded to the D80 was because I was getting fed up manually focusing my nifty-fifty. Just to be able to auto-focus it has made it worth while. I also find the LCD panel on top and the extra buttons for the controls great too :D I wouldn’t say it’s better than the D40 though,… just different.

    Best of luck with yours!

Just to let you know also, the lady you had “dealings” with about the D40, also had dealings with me about mine, I stated the price clearly in a mail to her and she even got me to send photos to her mobile then she hit me with the ” i can get it cheaper” bit, so, don’t feel bad.

No need. I’ve removed it myself and contacted the original poster. Didn’t mean to offend.

Well said Richie. Hopefully the moderators will delete the offending posts and allow the sale to be advertised without prejudice.

    Hi Lads,

No worries here…. I’m not easily offended.. most of the time! :D

I’ve withdrawn the sale and given the kit to my 12 year old son. He’s also been bitten by the photography bug and was using a Fuji S5800.
He’s delighted with with the D40, and I can still “borrow” it when I want!

    All the best!
