More from stuff that was never processed at the time. Taken in Tramore in July. I should be able to ID this one, but my books are all in boxes at the moment.

    Lovely shot John

It’s particularly good that you’ve managed to get the damselfly (Common Blue Damselfly by the way) all in focus from the head to the end of the abdomen. Something i never seem to manage. Also the background has a bit of interest in it but not so much that it detracts.

Thanks Will. I had an idea that was the name alright, though wasn’t at all sure. The nice thing about him being bright blue is that it makes it a doddle to make the background less distracting :)

The delicate detail of the wings is lovely.
    And what a wonderful blue.
    Great Macro shot.

Beautiful. Love the fact that it’s in focus all the way, like WillW said.

How’d you get the damselfly to pose so nicely? :)

    Thanks all!

Probably wet knees, a bit of cussing and swearing (not sure this actually helped :) ), and some luck. It was taken at twilight with flash, so they were probably a bit dozier than during the day due to the temperature drop. I’ve never had any joy trying to chase them during the day.

That was before the swan took a fancy to you Thomas, don’t think it’d have been as sharp after, not that I’d have been hanging around myself to find out!
