Hi Jin,
Just a quick question?
When was it purchased new? How come only 2000 clicks? Was the shutter exchanged? Where are you based if there is any chance to have a look at the camera…might be interested, thought the price is not convincing.
JinParticipantIt’s purchased brand new 2 years agos. Bought it for sports but only used in 1 football game. It has been in the box ever since. Have too many gears now. Try to get ride of some. This is a almost brand new camera, you barely find a heavily used one for that price on ebay.
I’m in dublin city centre. Inspection welcomed. Just call or txt me. I can meet you somewhere in town.
SinLightMemberThanks for the answers.
Just one more question. I was doing some research here. As Im operating on the good old 20D – this camera was out around the same time, I know its a PRO model and stuff. But could you tell me how would you compare the picture to 5D (the ‘old’ one). I can get a new one for that price. I know the weather sealing and fps count. What Im interested in is the quality of the picture coming from the body in terms of this ‘plasticality’ ;).
Regards and thanks in advance.
JinParticipantFirst of all I don’t think you can get a brand new 5d for 1400. It’s reduced to 1899 in conn’s camera now. 249 for the battery grip and 99 for the extra battery.
The difference between those, I can simply put it into this: 5d is a full frame version of 20d(30d more accuritly), but 1d II is totally a different camera.
First of all, 1d has 45 point focusing system. It’s way faster and more accurite than 5d’s 9-piont not mentioning all 9 pionts are squeezed in the middle of the frame. It’s not only shooting 8.5fps also focusing 8.5 times per sec which you have to knowledge. Also each focus point can link with any 3-7 points around it to in improve the focusing accuricy.
Secondly, 1d metering system is totally different from the others. It’s not only more accurite also more precise. It can link the focus point with spot metering system which means the focus point can be the same as your metering spot while 5d’s spot metering is only in the center. Also those 3-7 linking focus spots can be chose as metering spots as well.
There are just too many differences between 1d cameras and others. You can almost write a book about it. I didn’t even mentioned the body and the totally different control system.
Maybe I need to mention although the LCD is smaller but they have the same resolution. Really it’s not an issue for a experienced photographer.
By the way 1d takes 2 memory cards 1 SD and 1CF which is really handy.Any other questions I’ll be happy to answer.
jpfahyParticipantHi, Conns have two 1D MkII bodies, 1299 each. While they might have seen more use than yours they will come with a warranty. Conns give you a lender body if yours is in for repair for any reason and they clean your sensor for free! Accordingly i’ll offer you 900 cash for yours, money waiting.
JinParticipantjpfahy
Sounds like the heavily used ones in conns attract you more than mine. I won’t take 900 for sure.
Just don’t understand what’s the point of cleanning a CMOS which exposed to light for more than 2 hours. I don’t think the dead spots on them will disappear after the cleanning.
If you’re looking for a camera that will break. I don’t think mine is the one you looking for. (Had 1d, 1ds, 1d MII, 1ds MII none of then has ever sent for a single problem check)
