Help with Canon "cf error" and "err 99"

  Problem: Certain CF cards (Sandisk extreme III & Transend) do not work in my canon 30d . I get a “CF err” message when turned on. The extreme III has never been used.

  -I have tried formatting the cards in the camara (sometimes get err 99 message)
  -I have tried formatting the cards on my pc and then again in camera
  -both cards work fine in other canon SLR’s
  -a lexar card works fine in the 30d with the problem
  -cleaned connections between lens and camera
  -batterys are fully charged
  -battery & card has been removed for a period of time from camera
  -reset to camera default settings
  -updated firmware for 30d
  -checked connections in both problematic cards

  Any other suggestions? Thanks

  Dirty or corroded connection pins in the camera might be the problem or possibly a bent connection pin.
