Looking at your second shot it occured to me that it would be more effective if presented in a square format. I feel that you have included too much rock in the foreground when all the action is taking place higher up in the picture. Needless to say both your photos are beautiful exposed.
Thanks Tax, It was the leading lines in the rock and the asociated textures on same that attracted me to this shot. the thought was they lead nicely to the background and complimented the portrait format . I see what you are saying re the square format and agree to an extent but I do think it turns into a different shot then
