One from a few months back -I’m barely catching up with myself these days .. anyway, I like this one – its not perfect – but I’m interested in your thoughts :)
Go Crazy !!

DeeboParticipantReally nice shot and great pose. I do not know much about portrait shots but the lower half of the image is a lot darker and does tend to draw the eye. Maybe another flash or bounce of light would have worked this out.
Well done
DeeBartek WitekParticipantNice idea. Lovely light and skin tones.
I do not like the pose :(
Post some more if you have…All the best!

jessthespringerParticipantI really like the pose and the jewellery on the back, not sure about the flower though. I’m not 100% sure where to look..
Nice though.
dave100ParticipantVery attractive model – the flower is quite big but I think it works fine. Personally I think if she put her shoulders back instead of forward in this picture it would have really shown of the female form and complimented her figure in the shot..
I’m certainly no expert. These are just my first impressions..

Cheers Jess – the flowers were bought in Dunnes Homeware and sewn together to make a bunch – i just played around with them to see what happened ;)

This was shot with a softbox at the front and side of the model – and a reflector on the other side to lift shadow slightly – I wanted the curve in her back to be highlighted – Looking at it in RAW I could lighten the area you suggest – I’ll see how it prints – thanks a mill :)

I love the pose – I’d prefer if her chin was a little more separated from the shoulder but in the shots I have with that – the curve of her body is different! I usually pick a single shot from a set and process my favourite – so the other image i have from the shoot is this one – completely different :)
Thanks all very much appreicated

Punk RockMemberMick451ParticipantGood stuff, Lorraine.
Prefer the first image by far, but it has a coupla niggles for me.
I’d prefer if the line of her chin didn’t connect with the line of her shoulder – so your eye could sweep along the outline of the body without interruption. I’d also suggest her head be tilted back a bit rather than forward, which would get rid of the crease where her jaw/neck meet and also possibly give a nice curve to the back of her neck. The other thing would be her arm and where it’s positioned, it looks awkward and angular and at odds with the curves of the rest of her body. Perhaps have her move her arms totally to the front and hidden? The curve of her shoulder might work better without the distraction of the arm leading the eye out of the image. My 2c inanyways.
thommacParticipantthe lighting in the first shot looks perfect to me, i think the shadows work well to accentuate the models curves
i just find the models body position a bit unnatural (off balance maybe)
i like the strong eye contact in the second image, although the eyes look a bit dark (although that is probably this monitor)
:D
LoGillParticipantHey Mick – I also prefer the first . at the time I spotted the chin at the time but short of grabbing her chin and lifting it I couldn’t seem to get her to move just the chin – for all the reasons you say – i regret not grabbing her :) – I do have a couple of shots with the arms as you suggested ( didn’t see the potential in the head angle you suggest at the time – darn it ) – but the back is a bit too straight as I recall – but I’ll look again – Ta very much kind sir – here’s your change from that 2 c ;)
Thommac – I’m sort of into working very angular/ I call it “fashion elblow” type poses with models at the moment – I’m fickle so I don;t imagin it will last long but i like it for all the reasons that it seems to disconcert you – the off balance and unconventional element to it – a agree taht I’d prefer a more relaxed arm – its not in line with the curve .. looks too stiff
Thanks a mill for all the observations and comments – its a great help !

Hmmm, photoshop ;)

 :? – jaysus .. talk about making that sound easy :) but you are right – Its an option and I should be able to give a crack ;)

MarkKeymasterI like both of these Lorraine. With the first one, I like the little sliver of background showing bottom-left by
her arm and the space you’ve left on the bottom-right. I guess I find myself liking the space you’ll left empty
as well as that which you’ve filled.Jeez, I’m not sure I’m making sense anymore, must be time for some tablets :)
LoGillParticipant:lol:  fair play Mark – makes perfect sense the space and curves is what I like about it …go easy on the old tabs there now ;)
Thanks a mill all
