An autumn evening photo of Jerpoint Abbey, Co Kilkenny. It was built in 1180.

    Regards.

Tom, I think this was well spotted as a subject but somehow it hasn’t worked out; maybe something to do with lack of definition in the abbey structure…but I like it nevertheless.

    Thanks, Tom.
Yes, it was a pity the evening sun was shining on the abbey from the side.
    I appreciate the comment.

Agree that the abbey has kinda faded into the background. Whilst the foliage is very attractive, there’s too much of it in this shot and it distracts from the image as a whole.

Maybe a lower viewpoint might’ve helped, and possibly throwing the tree out of focus a bit, highlighting the abbey itself.

A stand alone shot of the lovely autumn colours on the tree wouldn’t go amiss either ;)

There is so much colour in the foreground it almost
looks as if it has been superimposed over the abbey,
looks like a nice place though, I know you were trying to
depict the autumn colour but you might get something
out of a b & w version if you played around with it a bit.
