Had a go at this in Botanic Park in Belfast today, was waiting on a couple passing but to no avail. Cropped the image and turned it into black and white. very interested for views of those that know

I think your timing on this photo has been very good; the guy is well positioned in the image, and he is an interesting subject, well dressed, dapper and even the position with the walking stick is good….so well timed, and well chosen. I think the black and white works well, perhaps it would be nice to see a little more contrast between the various trees, but there is nonetheless good detail and clarity there. Overall I like this, there is atmosphere in it.

One small point, because it is a thumbnail a lot of people don’t bother opening them up, you might get more responses if you embed the image.

I like that one too. Agree with everything Liam2673 says. The main problem I see is that the man’s head seems to blend into the background a bit too much. The composition is great though!

Like above, the timing is excellent. Would the autumn colours not work better for this though?

I have come back to this shot quite a few times and I really like it. As has been noted the composition and timing of the mans stride is very well captured. I also think that the processing suits this image…..

… I never would have placed this as Botanic park… never seen it so quiet and peaceful looking!
