More of a hobby maybe? I dont do much sporting photography but living so close to the sea i do get the change to take some shots of all sorts of watersports, there was about 5 guys out there on JetSki’s doing crazy jumps in the air last week, you’d really have to understand how far out they were behind these breakers as it was at 300mm, heres just one. This was actually taken the same day as “Standing on Water” in the People Forum.

The air he has there is pretty darn impressive! Didn’t even know you could do that sort of stuff on jetskis!
I think the subject dosen’t stand out enough, the waves hit you and then you spot the tiny jetski in the middle of them(slight exaturation but you get my point)
I’m not exactly sure where your focus is set either.. the ‘rider’ dosn’t seem to be in focus but yet the waves dont either.
I quite like the way the ‘rider’ is sort of sillhouetted against the grey sky though and the waves are pretty nice too.
Just if it was a bit closer and sharper it would have been better.
(not trying to slag it off, trying to give you helpful advice :).)
cheers monty, i didnt even notice the focus was off…
but on getting closer, i probably couldnt of, i was standing in the water at 300mm (longest i have) The lads on the jetskis’ were well out. Thanks for the comment though :)
